The Bachelor of Political Science Program in Politics and International Relations (International Program) 

Is a new program which aims to give a priority to high- quality education comparable to international standard.

     The Faculty of Political Science, Thammasat University sees the importance of developing a taught program in English in the field of politics and international relations. The Program integrates theoretical approaches with case studies, current issues as well as practical skills. It also gives a priority to a diverse range of academic questions essential to the field of politics and international relations.

Undergraduate Study
Aims 
    The Faculty of Political Science, Thammasat University sees the importance of developing a taught program in English in the field of politics and international relations. The Program integrates theoretical approaches with case studies, current issues as well as practical skills. It also gives a priority to a diverse range of academic questions essential to the field of politics and international relations.

Objectives
1. To provide academic knowledge as well as practical skills essential in the field of politics, international relations, and public administration.
2. To stimulate interest in current issues and encourage the application of theoretical learning into practical use.
3. To create ethical and moral awareness as well as social responsibility.
4. To provide international knowledge in response to the labor market in Thailand within the region and international organizations.

Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs)
 
The curriculum has indicated expected learning outcomes in General Outcomes (G) and Specific Outcomes (S) as follows
  • PLO1 (G) Ability to define and indicate framework of social science and humanities and fundamental knowledge about Thailand and ASEAN.
  • PLO2 (G) Ability to describe Political Science concepts and theories.
  • PLO3 (G) Ability to analyze and classify Political Science concepts and theories, IR theories, and global and domestic political situations.
  • PLO4 (G) Ability to recommend public policies and policies related to international political economy.
  • PLO5 (G) Ability to communicate both Thai and English in order to persuade and provide information regarding politics and international affairs.  
  • PLO6 (S) Ability to initiate projects to solve immediate and long-term issues, by utilizing Political Science knowledge in accordance with democracy and human rights.
  • PLO7 (S) Ability to assess and analyze information received from general sources or information system.
  • PLO8 (S) Ability to analyze political situations in various regions of the world, including the relation between Thailand and the great powers and other nations in the world, by utilizing IR theories.
  • PLO9 (S) Ability to comprehend injustice, disparity and corruption in the society and empathize with affected people. Also comprehend the relation between human beings and various branch of arts.
  • PLO10 (S) Ability to acknowledge the contemporary issues, as well as the changing paradigm of Political Science and International Relations. 
 
 
Teaching System
1.1 System
The Program operate on a fulltime bi-semester system. Each year has 2 semesters. Each semester consists 15 weeks and summer session consists of 6-8 weeks but has studies’ hour as same as normal semester.

The Program operates summer session for 2nd year and 3rd year students.
